A shaded lane descending toward a band of sea, roses spilling over the wall. The composition turns on a single diagonal: the sunlit path opening between a whitewashed house and a dry-stone wall, closed at the far end by a strip of turquoise. Light is handled as pure colour — lilac in the shadows, yellow in the foliage — so the eye walks the lane before it names it.
