A flat ceramic wall plaque whose scalloped edges follow the contours of three overlapping faces, drawn in black slip on an ivory ground. Cubist in spirit, the composition turns on a single wave of hair dividing a left profile, a frontal face and a right profile, with golden ochre leaves breaking the field at the upper right and lower left. The plaque keeps the drawing open and breathing, the glaze running from deep black to amber where the slip thins at the edges.
